Araucos interview process is rather backwards. While most company's do the interview first and then process background checks, Arauco does the opposite. I applied online and was contacted a few days later by HR. During the phone call she gave a brief overview and said she would get my background check process started. I was told I would be contacted for an interview when the results of the background check came back. So about a week later I was called in for an interview.
I waited for a bit then was given a hard hat, safety glasses, and ear plugs and told to walk a pretty far distance to meet my interviewer. After getting to her, we went in her office and she done a brief overview of the job position. I was really disappointed to find out that I was being interviewed for a job that I didn't apply for and in which I was not qualified for. The job posting I applied to was said it was production but I was being interviewed for a Utility Operator. I even told her that the posting I applied to did not say Utility Operator and that it said production and she insisted that it did not say that. The job posting did not mention the use of forklifts at all and I am not qualified and never had experience on one. After finding this out I lost my focus and was not as excited as I was when I walked in her office, I'm sure this was apparent to her to. After the overview she walked me into a large room where the manager was and we all sat down. There was supposed to be another person present but I'm not sure where that person was.
From there they just asked a bunch of questions. I knew I would not get an offer when the woman said "we're not going to ask the remaining 20 questions we will go easy on her today". I felt like I did not get a fair chance due to their mistake. I even took a screenshot and sent HR the posting I applied to to prove it said production. Over a week later I got an emailing saying I was not chosen for the Utility Operator position.
