I applied through other source. I interviewed at Arkadium in Feb 2025
Interview
The interview was standard, nothing out of the ordinary. I contacted the COO directly and was interviewed by her. We had a few conversations and a few messages over a Slack group. Then crickets. It was not until I withdrew my application in a Slack message after weeks of waiting on her to let me know I was not a fit that she then responded that she thought HR would have reached out to send me on my way. It was unprofessional and indicative of what they think about people. I would be wary about joining a company that treats people this way. Ghosting never looks good on anyone for any reason!
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Arkadium (Atlanta, GA) in Jan 2025
Interview
The interview began with a screening interview with the Chief Operating Officer. The next step was an in-depth interview with the Chief Operating Officer, which lasted about an hour via video call. The final step included the looking at two actual problems the organization is currently facing and preparing my strategy for how to address them. I had to put the strategy into a 10-slide presentation and present to a panel of 6 Arkadium leaders.
Overall, I found the interview process to be efficient and respectful, until the very end. I reached out to the COO after learning I would not be receiving an offer and asked for feedback to help improve my skills. Unfortunately, I never heard back. After nearly three hours of interviews and a customer presentation, I believe a response to the request would have been appropriate, even if short enough to say "I'm sorry but I don't have time to provide individualized feedback." This was the only part of the process that was disappointing.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about your experience leading a geographically distributed team.
Don't waste candidates time if you don't have budget. Pay attention when you talk to candidates. For some reason CEO constantly asked about salary expectation. That was the biggest red flag which I should have realized. Worst experience in my whole career.
Thanks for sharing your feedback. We make every effort to ensure our interview process is thoughtful, which is why our Hiring Managers (and in this case, one of the co-founders) conducted the very first interview and not someone from the People team. Discussing salary expectations is a part of the standard first conversation as we want to be transparent from the start in case there isn't alignment. I appreciate the time you took to interview with us and wish you the best in your job search.
