      Full Stack Software Engineer Interview

      25 May 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Denver, CO
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Artifact Uprising (Denver, CO) in May 2019

      Interview

The interview process started with a 30 minute call, which took over a week to schedule. After that, I was sent a code challenge, after submitting it I was invited for an in person interview. The in person was 5 hours long (including provided lunch) with a number of different people (assortment of engineering, product, and management). All but one of the people I interviewed with were a delight to speak with, while one of the engineers was more focused on taking notes, and getting exact answers to the typical canned engineering hypotheticals. Ended the day on a positive note, was told I'd have next steps the following day. 2 days later, after reaching out, I was told they did not want to move forward with me, citing personality and potential working relationship as reasons.

      Question 1

Most questions were focused on personality and working with product, not many technical questions

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Artifact Uprising (Denver, CO) in May 2019

      Interview

I applied in May, 2019 . The interview process took one week. It was a simple phone call with some basic technical questions. One thing it bothered me was that I could barely hear what the interviewer was saying. It was very quite and mumbling-ish sound. I had to ask him to repeat his questions, but I still couldn't understand some of his questions so I definitely screwed up the interview. He even noticed that I could barely hear him so he was trying to fix it but a few seconds later, the sound quality even got worse. After the interview, he said I will hear from him within 3 days. And 3 days later, of course I received an email saying they won't move forward with me which what I expected from most awkward interview ever.
