I applied online. The process took a week. I got an email reply from my online application to set up a phone screen. The call was totally normal and asked about my experience/ explained a bit more about the role. Then I was asked to work on a project to present event solutions for an upcoming trade show for the company. I spent my entire weekend working on the project, researching the interviewers and company, etc. I made a formal presentation and came in the following Monday to present. When I got there the interviewer was not there and no one could find her. She walked in ten minutes late and took me to the room. I was supposed to present to 3 people but one person scheduled another meeting so did not attend. I presented my work and the interviewers did not smile once, even when I smiled at them or made a slight joke to lighten the mood. After I presented they asked me some follow up questions, and then literally said, "Okay we know you can plan events, but what else can you do? Can you code? Are you able to do HTML?, etc." And I was taken aback because this was an events coordinator role and no where on the application/job post was any of this mentioned. When I said I was not familiar with coding they started writing furiously and I knew I was probably not going to get the job. The main interviewer said she would be in touch by the end of the week/early next week, but when I checked back in since I had not heard from them by the end of the second week she said they needed more time to review other candidates. I never heard back from them after that. Waste of my time - they were unfriendly and inconsistent with what they were looking for.
