I applied for a Development Operations Associate role in March and initially had a positive impression of the process. I submitted my application on 3/23/2026 and was quickly invited to a phone screen, which took place on 3/30/2026 with the Director of Development Operations. During that conversation, the process was clearly outlined: a Zoom interview with additional team members, followed by a half-day, on-campus final round. I was told they were aiming to wrap things up by May.
However, the experience went downhill from there. The job posting was taken down just one day later (4/1/2026), and I received no updates for nearly a month. After waiting, I followed up on 4/27/2026 to ask whether my application was still being considered or if the role had been filled. The very next day (4/28/2026), I received a generic rejection.
The lack of communication and transparency was frustrating. If the position had already been filled or canceled, it would have been respectful to inform candidates rather than leaving them in limbo. The quick rejection only after I reached out suggests that candidate communication is not a priority.
Overall, while the initial interaction was professional, the process felt disorganized and dismissive. Candidates deserve clearer updates and more timely communication.
