I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Aya Healthcare
Interview
An Aya recruiter contacted me on LinkedIn for an initial call, which went well. I was then moved forward to a Teams/video interview with one of the managers. It seemed to go pretty well, despite my interviewer asking me the same questions over and over, then saying “oh that’s right- you already told me that”. I was told I’d be contacted next week to set up another interview. However, two days later, I receive an email from the first recruiter telling me they decided not to proceed with my candidacy. Bummer, but ok, I get it. I thanked them for for their time and ask what I could improve on in interviews for future opportunities. I was told “that’s confidential information, which I’m unable to share with you, but I recommend you apply for other opportunities with our company!” Uhh..ok? Just seemed like a huge waste of time, honestly.

This was one of the most unprofessional interview processes I’ve experienced in quite some time. As a recruiter myself, I make it a point to clearly communicate with candidates when sending an assessment, including letting them know it may land in spam since it’s often the first outreach and contains a link. I would never expect a candidate to complete an assessment without any prior communication or context.
After completing the assessment, I received no follow-up and was effectively ghosted. Unfortunately, this is the second time I’ve had this experience with an Aya recruiter. I understand that things get busy, but clear and respectful communication should remain a priority throughout the process.
