I initially applied for a Management Trainee position at this company. The job posting was a little vague as to the responsibilities, and there were a few typos, but I ignored those things and applied.
A few days later I received a phone call from an HR Representative, who said that her and the hiring manager looked at my resume and were "very impressed and honestly a little intrigued." This phone call is when red flags started popping up.
She didn't ask a lot of specific questions about my ability to do the job, only vague ones such as "Is this something you could do?" Eventually she set up a 1-on-1 interview with the hiring manager for the next morning. However, after this was the biggest red flag. I asked her what the specific responsibilities of the job were because the job posting and her descriptions were very general. She diverted the question by saying that the hiring manager would explain in the morning during our interview.
Afterwards, I immediately hopped on Glassdoor to learn that this company lies to everyone about everything. Apparently all they do is door-to-door sales, but nowhere on any job posting or anywhere on their website does it explain that. They have all these pictures of guys in suits and women in red dresses at Christmas parties and in their offices hard at "work", trying to make the company seem like it's a dream job, when in reality it's run by a bunch of people who never left their fraternity in college and who will lie to applicants.
Even if this position was legit, I wouldn't want to work for a company that so blatantly scams their employees. While the HR Rep on the phone was very nice, she was never once rude, I blocked her number and did not show up to the interview. I have better things to do than deal with people who can't even be honest about the job I'm applying for.
