I applied online, and shortly thereafter I had a Teams interview with the HR Manager. The HR Manager was very pleasant and asked job-related questions. However, immediately after the interview I chose to withdraw my application as the reporting structure for the position I was interested in was a red flag. As a senior professional with 20 years in Instructional design, reporting to a junior middle-manager ("Instructional design lead") would have been counter-productive. The organization should focus on collaboration rather than pecking order and unnecessary middle management.
