The early stages of the process were positive. I appreciated meeting with multiple stakeholders, including the hiring manager and team members, and left with the impression that this was a collaborative, respectful workplace.
However, communication after the interviews was disappointing. I reached out to the recruiting team multiple times over several weeks without a response. When I eventually contacted the hiring manager, she assured me the role was still open, that recruiting would follow up with next steps, and encouraged me to reach back out if I didn’t hear from them.
After following up a week later with the hiring manager as she requested, I received an automated rejection email shortly afterward. Given her prior message, a direct update from her would have been more appropriate and respectful. It seemed clear she already knew the decision but chose to defer communication to the system instead which only prolonged the process.
While I understand recruiting teams are often busy, candidates invest significant time and effort into interviews. A simple, transparent response would have left a much better impression. I also noticed other recent reviews describe similar communication issues, suggesting this may be a recurring challenge and an opportunity for the firm to strengthen its candidate experience.
