Everyone was so nice. It’s a great newsroom environment and they are super supportive of their interns. The process is pretty straightforward, and the interview is relaxed with questions about why you want to work there, a story pitch, etc.

Question 1
If you had to start working on a story for us right now, what would it be?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Baltimore Sun Media Group (Baltimore, MD) in Jul 2024
Interview
I had two interviews with two newly installed executive-level editors to the newly Sinclair-owned Baltimore Sun after speaking to a recruiter about the opening as the newsroom looked to rebuild after a few rough years. There was a briefer conversation with two recruiters and two interviews with senior editors on the team. One was actively working and had to stop mid interview to handle breaking news.

Question 1
They asked me how I would handle direction from the Sun's new rich owner who is directing some of the editorial coverage projects (immigrant coverage etc.) and if I had a problem with a rich conservative inserting himself into the newscycle (they worded this differently, obviously).
I applied online. I interviewed at Baltimore Sun Media Group (Baltimore, MD) in Apr 2018
Interview
Went very well. Was very pleased with who I interviewed with and the job duties. It wasn't a super easy interview and went very fast paced. I think that was to see how quick my decision making was.
