I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Bates Smart Architects (Sydney) in Oct 2023
Interview
This interview was set up through a recruiter and I received feedback just under 1 week later. I had really high hopes and thought my interview went really well! It went for 1.5hrs which seemed very long, however I thought that was a good sign. They seem to work on great projects and from what I was told it seemed like a great place to work with good career progression and mentoring. Unfortunately the company decided not to go further. The short feedback I received inlcuded stating the experience I have from the previous company I worked for "was not particularly aligned to the projects we undertake", which is completely redundant as I did not have a choice in the projects I worked on, as is pretty standard in this industry. It also leads me to believe they do not want to employ anyone they would have to mentor or train. The interviewer also spoke quite condescendingly about my previous workplace which seemed very unprofessional and quite pretentious. The company has left a really bad taste in my mouth and they did me a favour by saying no.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Bates Smart Architects (Melbourne, FL) in Dec 2021
Interview
The overall interview seems quite smooth, the hiring manager is friendly too. The interview length wasn't too long, roughly 30 mins. However, this is my very 1st interview, I might not perform well.

Real robot vibes - read generic questions off a sheet after giving me a ‘ quick tour’ of the rows of cubicles that disappeared into the horizon. Honestly left feeling miserable.
