Interview
Applied online. The process took 6 weeks. Three rounds of interviews. The first I recorded myself answering three basic questions. Then an online interview with a manager for one hour about my background and reiterated the questions from the first recorded interview. Also, asked what my salary expectations were which they ultimately low balled me. I was then asked to an in person interview in the Houston office for 4-5hrs. There were three people interviewing me. The two owners and one manager. Began with question about my background and prior work. Then lunch with employees to test my personality. Afterwards, they administered a technical quiz over seismic interpretation and geopressure. Then they discussed benefit coverage. Contacted my references two weeks later. Then I was given an offer two weeks after that. Extremely low balled me 20-30k under what I made clear was my salary expectation. Responded by asking for what I initially told them. Said they would talk it over and get back to me. Never heard back from them.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Berger Geosciences (Houston, TX) in Jan 2023
Interview
Initial video response to 3 generic interview questions Was then approached for a 1 hour video interview which involved a lot of description about the role and what they're looking for in an employee. Was then offered to attend a 4 hour interview in their office which began with a lot of the same typical interview questions. They took me out to lunch to "test my personality". Then after lunch we went through a ~2 hour technical discussion/interview process involving a pop-quiz with questions about seismic data collection, mud weight, reservoir pressure, etc. Then they contacted my references about 10 days later and sent me a very low offer about 14 days after the in-person interview.
