The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Best Buy in Oct 2009
Interview
To meet the requirements for a job offer, one must pass an entry personality test, then, if lucky, receive a phone call to set up an initial interview. If one accepts, he will have to perform 2-3 interviews successfully to receive an offer. If he accepts the offer, he will need to complete a drug test and pass the background check.
Once your foot is in the door, getting a job is not too difficult. In-store connections or simple persistence are key to getting an interview. Average interviewees will obtain offers for cashiering, where the standout interviewees will be offered sales positions.

Interview
I was looking for a summer job until I started school in the fall so I decided to apply at Best Buy. I applied online and within 2 days of me submitting the application, I got a call on a Sunday at about 4:30 stating that they had received my appluication and that they had some questions. They interviewed me about general questions for about 5 minutes and then scheduled me for a 1 om 1 with a general manager. She once again asked me general questions and my availability. She said that she liked my answers and during that moment scheduled me for another interview with the store manager. I went back about 2 days later and was asked questions more in depht. He said that he liked my personality and knowledge and instructed me to take a drug test. I then waited about 4 days and am now beginning orientation and training.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Best Buy in Aug 2009
Interview
After being called for an interview, I had my first with the manager of the department I was applying for. She asked me a good number of questions, and it took about 30 minutes. Then, she brought me in for a second interview about two days later with the general manager. That was pretty much all about recap of the first interview, and my feelings about product theft and fair management. After about 30 minutes, he gave me a job offer, and then told me that there was a required drug test within 24 hours.
