I had two interviews over three days. The first, a screener call, went smoothly. The interviewer was friendly, we connected well, and they implied the position wasn’t highly competitive.
The second interview—a 1-on-1 video call—was a different story. The interviewer was cold and stone-faced, showing no empathy and giving off the vibe that they'd already made up their mind before I even spoke. Regardless, I managed to get them talking and asked solid questions. We even discussed the schedule and location.
Despite the positive feedback, I received a rejection a day later than promised, with the generic reasoning that they chose someone “more qualified.” This was for a low-level position, for which I have relevant experience. When I asked for feedback, they simply reiterated that it was positive.
