      Site Reliability Engineer Interview

      13 Dec 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Bit Complete (Toronto, ON) in Dec 2025

      Interview

A recuiter reached out about a position on LinkedIn several times. I was not looking to change, but since the recruiter was persistent, I decided to hear about the position, so we arranged a call. After initial introduction, the recuiter told me that I'm not the right person for the job, since my current role was a software engineer, and SRE was my previous role! Well, this is a fact mentioned in my resume, and also in my LinkedIn profile. So why wasting people time? Such a wierd experience.

Thank you for taking the time to share this, we’re genuinely sorry the experience didn’t come across as you had hoped. That was not our intention. We do our best to review resumes and LinkedIn profiles thoughtfully, but they don’t always reflect the full scope of someone’s experience. Oftentimes, a brief conversation can help us better understand alignment. We truly appreciate you taking the time to speak with us and for sharing this feedback, it helps us continue to improve.

      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Bit Complete in Apr 2026

      Interview

The overall process was: 1. Introductory call with a founder 2. A simple technical screen 3. An in-depth technical discussion about my experience and SRE-relevant topics 4. A slightly more involved full-stack technical interview 5. Final call with another founder and the COO All of my interview experiences were positive. The interviewers were friendly and helpful, and the recruitment personnel were responsive to questions and scheduling changes. The questions were fair and relevant, and the coding challenges were approachable.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Technical challenges involved standard questions about manipulating common data structures with increasing difficulty/technical consideration. The platform they use is language agnostic so you can code in whatever feels comfortable.
