      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      21 Jun 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Bitscopic

      Interview

Wow. What a clown show this place is. My initial (and only) interview with an unprofessionally dressed recruiter with extremely unkempt facial hair was 2 part: A 15 minute totally one sided introduction from himself and a description of how he was given an offer from the company via an email based interview process because “the founders liked him”, and a 15 minute technical interview administered by him (a non-technical person) where he could not answer any questions. The technical portion was via CoderPad and the CoderPad showed 2 accounts that were not him were watching the entire technical portion on CoderPad, meaning the engineers were watching this but did not care to actually talk to me. Total lack of respect for candidates from this company, to the point I think I may stop interviewing with startups altogether to avoid these kind of shenanigans.

We are very sorry about your experience, as this is far from what we strive for. We try our utmost to make the process as transparent and efficient as possible. We did have a recruiter consultant for a short period, which did not work out for a number of reasons. Thank you for sharing your experience. Wishing you all the best.

      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      3 Jul 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Bitscopic in Jun 2023

      Interview

There was first an initial video screening from the technical recruiter. I missed the first one because I mistook the interview as a phone call. The recruiter was forgiving and let me reschedule. The screening just involved details of my experience and then he gave me some small coding problems in C# which weren't difficult. I then scheduled a second interview with a Senior Engineer and had a two more interview questions. They were challenging but they weren't absurdly difficult like other interview questions I've encountered. The experience was good, but the disappointing part is that I've never heard back from them after several weeks, even after reaching out by email to ask about the status. So I pretty much have to assume there's no offer. My only feed back to them is that they at least give some notice that they won't go forward.
