I was excited for the chance to work at Bloom That and actively pursued the Community Manager role for several months! I originally applied through their site, but never received any response. At the time, I was already communicating directly with the CEO and President to help the company expand its clientele, so I thought I had proved my ability to work for them. I approached the VP of Brand at an event and she agreed to interview me via phone. I then interviewed in person with the company president after he made me wait for 45 minutes in their warehouse. (Remember, I was really excited, so I tried to brush this aside!) The role was posted for a long time and they insisted they were waiting for more funding, but never returned my emails or calls later when I tried to follow up. Unfortunately, I learned that in all my eagerness to join this team I overlooked how elitist this startup was. This was an extremely disappointing experience and I no longer purchase flowers from Bloom That.
