I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Bloomberg in Nov 2009
Interview
Bloomberg only accepts online application. If your resume matches the job requirement, the recruitment team will set you up for initial interview or a recruitment. As for me, I attended a recruitment event with 12 other applicants who were asked to present in a group. Thereafter a group interview followed by a 2 on 1 interview.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Bloomberg (Tokyo) in Jan 2009
Interview
First telephone interview with two people from the Professional Analytics team was pleasant and easy. Questions about background, motivations and what I think Bloomberg and the Professional Analytics team does.
The second interview with a panel of three was difficult. Questions about how the Nikkei was performing, its current value and how I expected it to go featured heavily. Also the usual questions about handling difficult clients, operating in a fast paced environment and why I'm the best pick for the job. The interview was followed by a 45 minute skills test in Japanese focusing on finance, maths, polite Japanese language, society and history questions. Not easy at all for a non-Japanese native.
