I applied online. The process took 12 months. I interviewed at Boca Raton Public Library in Dec 2016
Interview
It took them over a year to give me an interview, and then were confused when the resume they had on file was not my most current one. They move very slowly and are not attentive during the hiring process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked about prior customer service encounters I have had, what sort of professional development I am involved in, why I applied for the position, etc.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Boca Raton Public Library (Boca Raton, FL) in Dec 2016
Interview
I applied online 4+ times over the span of a year (because I clearly really wanted to work at the library and I made that known). After the last time applying I got an email after 3-5 weeks asking for an interview. Scheduled interview within a week or two after that. Went in for an in-person panel style interview. They weren't very personable people, very quiet and awkward, which made it awkward for me, though I tried to keep it up beat. Their questions weren't very relevant to the job in my opinion. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work at the library, and I have a college degree. They said they had other interviews to do throughout the week and then they would make their decision. I asked specifically if they would let me know "either way," even if I didn't get the job, they said yes "but the HR people work very slow." I never got a response back. Very disappointing. I guess I wasn't awkward enough to fit into their club.
