Pros: Braeburn has a vital, nationally needed mission dedicated to combating the opioid crisis and transforming substance use disorder management. Their commitment to remaining a private company is also a major plus, as it allows them to focus on long-term patient impact rather than being beholden to short-term public market pressures.
Cons: Unfortunately, the interview process did not reflect the professionalism of that mission. After completing initial video calls, I was invited for an on-site interview to meet with six colleagues. Upon arrival, five of those six interviews were conducted via video anyway. Furthermore, the person hosting the day, while it was clearly a development opportunity for them to lead the process, did not have a laptop or tech setup ready for me to use; luckily, I brought my own. To conclude the experience, I requested the email addresses of the interviewers from HR to send thank-you notes, received no reply, and was completely ghosted thereafter.
Advice to Management: Ensure the team member hosting the interview understands the basics and minimally ensure there is an available laptop when most interviews on site are virtual to ensure candidates aren't left managing their own technical logistics. At least allow candidates to send thank you notes to those conducting interviews unless professionalism isn't an expectation. Finally, close the loop with candidates; ghosting after an on-site leaves a very poor impression.
