I spent four months interviewing for a role.Throughout the process, the hiring manager and talent acquisition expressed excitement about me moving forward and eventually joining, and I met with several team members who echoed the same.
After a full day of in-office presentations, alignment on expectations and compensation I arrived to the end. The following week, the hiring manager told me directly he was looking forward to having me join and would support me in the role. Two weeks later, talent acquisition called to say the hiring manager changed their mind.
It was an abrupt and disappointing end to a four-month process where my dream job felt within reach, only to be taken away. I question the integrety of the organization, particularly leadership.
