The interview process started out great. It moved quickly and people were nice. But I was suddenly made an offer (which was great) but it was before I even got a chance to speak with HR about benefits, insurance, start date etc. I tried to get clarification about benefits over email, but responses were bare minimum and felt dismissive. There was absolutely no negotiating or wiggle room on any benefits--including the start date. And there was no explanation as to why. After accepting the offer, I asked a few questions about who I would be partnered with and I was dismissed. When I asked again and tried to explain the importance of having an idea of who I would be working with day in and day out the offer was suddenly revoked. It's unfortunate. I wish they had been more communicative, managed expectations, and seen the negotiation as an opportunity to make both parties better off instead of a winner take all scenario.
