Applied and received email to schedule phone screen. Spoke with the recruiter who advised that the location is in Heath and not Columbus. I did ask about telecommute 2-3 days out the week and was advised the position would be in office only. The role is for a brand new facility and the role would have a jr. recruiter and recruiting coord. reporting into it, and the pay was low and not comparable to the Ohio market for a lead recruiter with direct reports and the commute. The recruiter mentioned training being at the hq for the first few months which I was okay with but then proceed to tell me with a new baby that would be hard for me. I didn’t feel comfortable with that comment and at that point I did not want to proceed with the phone interview so I told the recruiter due to the pay, commute and the role not having a couple of days work from home, I wasn’t interested. In the end, I don’t think the recruiter realized that the comment she made goes against federal law. I’m assuming since the company is fairly new and expanding their whole hr/recruiting structure they have a lot to learn and haven’t gotten that far with putting process and policies in place. Plus, I don’t think they did a comp analysis for the market for the role to offer mid to low 60s and the years experience that they are seeking.
