I have interviewed with other Development teams at other Universities over the past several years but none were as needlessly difficult as this one. For as high as the bar was, the interviewers seemed not to have their end together for themselves. They would copy/paste the questions into the Zoom chat, only to accidentally include a segment of the chat amongst themselves asking how hard they could make it. Things like "Why CI? Why now?", as if catching people in need of a job in the act of applying to one that just happened to be available with their skillset was some sort of virtuous feat to be celebrated.
They also did a strange "time out" in the middle of the interview too, which I've never seen before or heard of. The whole interview process seemed to be very adversarial and made me even question if my interview was a fake one just to hire an internal candidate, I have no idea, but it was an overall disappointing experience, one even so it made me almost glad I didn't a get job working here. Maybe it's just this team, I have no idea. The HR team was very professional. As a former alumnus, this was a very negative experience for me. Truly disappointing.
