Calastone’s process is in 3 stages:
1st stage: Technical interview with Head of Data and another developer. The questions were mostly around my CV. Some technical questions were asked as well such as:
- Indexes
- Query optimisation
- Backup strategies
- Azure Questions around resources
2nd stage:
45 minute test which involves 7 SQL questions followed by 45 minute interview with Head of Data and the Data Director. Questions are mostly around your experience and also scenario based questions.

- sub-queries and CTEs
- Window Functions

- having clause
3rd stage: HR interview
It’s a culture fit interview. Questions included:
- motivations for leaving your role
- strengths and weaknesses
- company values
- personality questions
