I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Canadian Bar Assoc. in Sept 2025
Interview
The hiring process had three rounds: a screening call with HR, a one-on-one interview with the hiring manager, and a final panel with the CEO and members of the team.
The hiring manager was very nice and communicative throughout, and she kept me updated on the process and what to expect at each stage. The first two rounds felt conversational and constructive.
The final round was not a positive experience. The atmosphere was tense, and the CEO came across as cold and dismissive. I felt scanned up and down and belittled rather than engaged in a genuine conversation. Instead of an open, supportive dialogue, the interaction felt intimidating and judgmental, which made it hard to showcase creativity or ideas. This gave me the impression that the organizational culture may not prioritize open communication or value creative input.
Overall, the process started well and was clear in structure, but the final stage raised serious concerns for me about leadership style and whether the culture would be supportive or collaborative.
Clear and professional, but still friendly. Good support from HR. Might have been some testing- can't recall. Mix of questions about background and scenario type questions. Open to being asked questions too.
