I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Capital Newspapers (Madison, WI)
Interview
The interview process was very lengthy. Meaning the timeline was never adhered to and the amount of people seemed excessive. There was a lot of conversational time, which I think is good to have to establish a comfort level, however with certain people it was such a big part of the time spent that the real interview didn't start until 30-60 minutes into the conversation. Which meant the timeline had no chance of being met, which is not at all fair or respectful to the interviewee. Several people also seemed unsure of the actual job they were trying to fill. It was all really an uncertain and uncomfortable feeling. Walking into the office and seeing the layout and dress felt like stepping back into time, which is the last thing that I'm looking for. It's very dated feeling and looking. Did not pursue after the 6th person to interview with over the span of a couple days and many hours of my time. Didn't give me a good vibe that it would work out.

Question 1
Lots of conversation, general interview questions when I was given the chance to answer/talk, depending on the person interviewing.
One person was very challenging "why do I want you" which is funny when a recruiter pursued me.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Capital Newspapers (Portage, WI) in Sept 2017
Interview
Very casual and comfortable atmosphere. I was able to present my prepared materials without feeling like I was being grilled. The friendliness and welcoming atmosphere was a major factor in my decision to work here.
