First stage recruiter interview. Recruiter was young and nice. The job description itself is standard.
What was not standard is the compensation. They are paying half of the market rate for this role (my junior ICs make more than this salary band). When I asked if there is any wiggle room on the compensation band, she said it was firm and maybe the remainder of their benefits package would be enticing:
Can't contribute to 401k until 6 months in.
Company match not available until 1 year anniversary.
Unlimited PTO after 90 days.
None of this is competitive to the job market today.
