Initial calls from an individual from an independent recruiter, then passed to another recruiter from a different agency that works directly with a CTO consultant (from Fortium Partners), but not directly for CEHE.
Two screening calls and then a phone interview with the interim CTO consultant.
The consultant (interim) CTO has a very dry personality and he seemed extremely annoyed and uninterested in the phone call. He was very judgmental sounding, as I don't have a BS degree. My extensive 20+ years proven hands-on work experience wasn't enough. I needed the piece of paper I guess.
He also described how he already set a course for CEHE to take in how they do business and how their tech will be set up; even though they are actively hiring a new full-time CTO and Director of Engineering whom should be making those decisions.
During one of the questions I described how I would make a change to meet the business needs and vision of CEHE and he seemed very put out that I was throwing off his kingdom building. I don't believe this consultant should be making the decisions and screening for potential qualified candidates. This shows the character and quality of the organization. He only works 3 days a week, so it took several weeks for each step due to his limited time.
I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. It was a major waste of my time. Their priorities and interest level on hiring extremely qualified people are highly inadequate.
Putting a consultant in charge of making all your decisions, versus listening to their advice is very dangerous. Their current reviews are extremely low and now I know why. Steer clear of this company.
