I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Cintas (Lancaster, NY) in Apr 2009
Interview
I initially applied to the company at a job fair back in January. About three months later I Was contacted by the Lancaster, NY office's HR guy. He wanted to schedule me for a phone screening/interview. We set up the date for a Friday (Good Friday. I figured they'd be closed, but he assured me the company would be open). Good Friday rolls around, and I get no call. At all. I call his office and leave a message. I don't get a return call until later in the following week, to reschedule. The interview is eventually given over the phone, wherein I talk about my skills, "tough job decisions," "how I interact with others," etc. He says the screening went well, and schedules me for a 1:1 interview with a (then) current Trainee who was due to "graduate" in May.
On April 23, I head to Cintas for my interview. I'm greeted by the Trainee and ushered into an office for the interview. It was basically, the same as the phone screening: "tell me about a hard time...." "what do you know/like about the company....." "any reservations?" Again, the interview went well and he said for me to expect to hear from another Trainee for a third interview. That was as far as it went and I never heard anything else. So I was jerked around and then flat-out lied to.
Another note worth mentioning is that the company (or at least the Lancaster office) has a "clean shaven" policy. I usually keep an extremely trimmed goatee. I was told by the Trainee that I might want to shave it off for the next interview. The HR guy said nothing of this during the initial phone screening. It'd be sort of funny if I received no third interview because of a small amount of groomed facial hair.
Multiple Interviews and one in person. Nice people and good interview questions. Only negative was the follow up. I had to reach back out to see if I was still being considered or not.
It was a fairly easy interview process. They asked questions about what I did in college as far as academics and internships. Nothing too difficult was covered. As long as you prepare, you will be fine.
They recruited me out of school. I had 8 rounds of interviews, and was promised the job in the second to last interview with the last being a formality. They rescheduled my final interview three times with three different people. Ultimately did not get the role.
