One phone screening and the Program Manager barely asked me questions about myself. One question, “how does your experience prepare you for this role”. I asked many questions about City of Boulder, she said this was a quick screening. I kept questions broad.
She said that they would get back to me either way by end of week. I didn’t receive a denial email until the next week, at 6:11pm on Friday evening (they close at 5pm). The lack of professionalism in their delivery of follow up was telling of the culture of the Economic Vitality department and City of Boulder. I could not believe the fact that I thought the interview had gone well but was not even worth a proper follow up until after the position had been filled. I don’t know if I’d even consider the city of Boulder as an employer after this telling interaction.
