I recently attended an interview for the Ad Operations Specialist position. The session gave me better exposure to the digital advertising operations field, which focuses more on the technical and analytical side of online advertising rather than marketing creativity.
During the interview, I learned that the role involves managing and monitoring digital ad campaigns, ensuring ads are correctly set up in ad platforms, and troubleshooting delivery issues. The interviewer also emphasized the importance of working with data, tracking performance metrics such as impressions and click-through rates, and collaborating with different teams like sales and technical support.
Although I was not previously very familiar with ad operations, I found the role interesting because it combines technical skills, problem-solving, and data analysis. I realized that strong attention to detail and the ability to work with dashboards and reporting tools are very important in this position.
Overall, the interview helped me understand that Ad Operations is a behind-the-scenes but crucial function in digital advertising, ensuring campaigns run smoothly and effectively. It also made me more aware of the skills required in this field, especially analytical thinking and comfort working with digital platforms.
