      Employee Interview

      18 Jul 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Combat Waffle Studios

      Interview

Usually companies will give an introduction about themselves the role, the project etc. They'll do some culture fit and soft skill type questions. Usually they ask you to give a nice little introduction or elevator pitch. But this was just all technical based questions. In fact, it felt more like an interrogation rather than an interview. I was asked questions that weren't even relevant to the job title, to which I was told it's an "all-hands-on-deck" team, which translates to they want a generalist that they can underpay to do it all. They weren't willing to share anything about the project due to NDA. Which normally if that's the case they'll have you sign an NDA prior. Only one person out of a panel turned their camera on, which made the interview feel very awkward. The studio owner didn't say a word the entire time. It also wasn't disclosed to me until the interview that salaried, fulltime employees with benefits are only applicable to on-site employment candidates. I hope the team considers changing their interview style to be more welcoming and feel more like a two-way conversation.
