Interview
1.Apply to Conduit Language Specialist online(2 weeks for Conduit to review your resume and call you).
2. Online Test in Spanish/English to test your language skills in writing,speaking, listening, and translating. (1 week)
3.Online Interview Questionnaire. They ask a set of pre-recorded questions in Spanish and English (2 weeks).
4. Submit application for Security Clearance (2 weeks)
5. 6 MONTHS in the dark while they process your security clearance
6. Virtual and Onsite training (10 hours)
7. 2-3 months for them to schedule you on your first translation case.
8. Start working as a linguist on an As-needed-basis.

The first step is submitting a resume. I heard back by phone within two days of submitting my resume. The phone call I received was an initial screening for the job. I answered honestly and wasn't an exact match for the dialect desired. I was still able to move forward to a 75 min online test hosted by eskill.com that had to be completed within 48 hours. The test covered everything that the position was seeking to include some very specific and obscure dialect questions.

You must be familiar with the specific dialect. My knowledge of Spanish in general and my specific dialect was not enough to prepare me, in fact most websites will not even ba able to prepare you. You either know the specific dialect or you don't.
