      Interview

For those of you who are interested to find out about what happens after you pass that dreaded CCAT test, read point 5, please. After you apply for a job, you are introduced to a series of quizzes and phases: 1. The first one, called the "Basic Fit Check", is standard across all jobs, however, it has different questions depending on the job itself, just some basic questions along the line of "Do you like creating stuff and integrating them into...". 2. After you pass the first one either by lying or telling the truth, you unlock the first badge of a series of "Required Skill Badges". Mostly, what all jobs have in common, is the CCAT badge as a start and an English proficiency badge as the next one with varying levels of acceptance thresholds, i.e some jobs might require a higher score in CCAT (6/6 stars) while others might require fewer stars to unlock the next badge. The CCAT quiz is basically an IQ test in disguise that also has some English dependant questions. I would suggest searching it up beforehand to grasp the gist of it. In my case, I was required to get 4/6 stars for the CCAT, I scored a mere 2/6 on my first try and then got 4/6, which was 2 correct answers shy of getting a 5/6. And despite what most people say about the second one being proctored, for some reason, it wasn't in my case. 3. After you get that precious CCAT badge, you unlock the Spoken English proficiency badge. The quiz is pretty simple, it was in two parts, the first, you hear an English sentence, you repeat it, you do that for a bunch of sentences (20 I guess), the second, you are given around 30 seconds to read a question e.g "How would solving world hunger affect society and the global economy?" and then you have to record an answer in 60 seconds (15 seconds minimum for a record), you do that for like 3 times and the quiz is done. I scored 4/4 stars (C1 Advanced), wasn't expecting that score to be honest, but yeah, hurray! 4. The next badge heavily depends on the job, I was required to have at least 1 star for a Java assessment badge. The assessment was held on CodeSignal, and let me tell ya, it was heavily proctored, camera on, mic on, screen-shared, activity tracked, and all that good ol' privacy-invading stuff. The test included around 16 multiple choice questions that were mainly about inheritance, 1 DevOps question which was a file manipulation question, 1 Fix-The-Error question, 1 Complete-The-Code question, and finally, one coding question that you have to fully implement, unlike the aforementioned ones. The questions were easy compared to Leetcode's but some of them tended to be knowledge-based other than being purely a problem-solving test and keep in mind that you aren't supposed to google stuff at all, so you have to know your syntax and methods and how inheritance works. I got 2/4 stars. 5. Having acquired all the required skill badges, you still have to earn those "Real Work Badges" too. The good thing is, some jobs have "Required Real Work Badges" and some don't, mine didn't, so I can't input much on that. 6. Acquiring all infinity stones, uh, I mean all the required skill badges, I waited for a day for my application to be reviewed, then I got the chance to schedule an interview. I scheduled it to be as soon as possible, which was 6 days from that moment. The day after setting my schedule, I received an email saying that I'm no longer considered for this role. Yup, that's it, as anticlimactic as anything else can get, I hope that I satisfied anyone's curiosity about what it's like to be on the other side of that CCAT test.
