Application questions - online numeracy, comprehension and logical reasoning tests - telephone interview - assessment day (networking event, interview, presentation, psychometric test, group task)
The process took a long time - from application (answering various questions) in November, a phone interview in December and an assessment day in February. The assessment day featured a networking event, 45 minute interview with two employees, a presentation, a very difficult psychometric/business test and a group task. The presentation went smoothly and I was able to answer the questions asked quite easily. The interview was fairly difficult and I stumbled on some questions but felt quite positive overall. The group task was enjoyable.
I waited a few weeks after the assessment day for a response and after three weeks, I received an email telling me I had been successful at the assessment day: "only 50% passed the final stage. You were one of 23 so congratulations! ....we are now busy looking for roles for you, the successful candidates, across the five streams we offer". I was thrilled!
However, a few weeks after this, I received a devastating email telling me that although I had passed, they had ranked the candidates in each stream and made offers to a number of candidates but unfortunately, I had scored lower than other candidates and so they would not be hiring me. I was really upset as I was so excited to be joining DCC. I had also stopped looking and applying for other roles. Whilst I thought DCC would be a great company to work for, and I genuinely couldn't wait to start there, I was disappointed at the unclear communication from the company and feel 'messed about' by them.
