      Account Coordinator Interview

      1 Nov 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Greenville, SC
      Declined offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at DOM360 (Greenville, SC) in Oct 2016

      Interview

I applied online and was contacted by a recruiter. Had a phone conversation with him where I was informed that they were in search for a new addition to their team. He explained to me how their company had just been in the process of being restructured and went on to warn me that the pay was "pretty low" for this position. I should have taken that as a first warning. A couple days later I went in for an interview with 4 different people - of which I had to wait over an hour for half of them to get out of a meeting. It was very unprofessional and clear that they did not value my time. During the interview, the manager mentioned to me that I should only look at the positive and recent reviews on this site about the company (hinting that him and his colleagues are forced to write them). Also, very unprofessional. The interview was very easy-going and I was told that I would definitely be receiving a call back whether or not I received the job by a certain day. I waited till that day and never heard anything. I tried to get in contact with my recruiter and still have not heard anything. My impression of this company was that it was very unprofessional and looking for the candidates that they can pay the lowest. Do not take the negative reviews on this site with a grain of salt, as the "positive" ones are purely fiction.

We are sorry you feel had a negative experience during our interview process. We feel one of our strengths is that we are very open with our candidates who apply. There are many companies who use “smoke and mirror” techniques in recruiting and we refuse to. Our Account Coordinator position is our entry level position in our account services team. When discussing compensation, we are honest if the amount we pay is lower than the amount a candidate has indicated as their desired amount. Although this candidate was told our salary was low compared to their desired amount, our salaries are competitive with similar positions throughout the Greenville area. We have made a lot of changes through the last year, and we believe this is what the individual was referring to when they stated you should focus on the positive reviews. We have never asked employees to pad the site with positive reviews. We have over 70 employees and our numbers would be much higher than 6 for the year if this was the case. We are very honest about our strengths and opportunities to impress, we welcome all feedback, especially if we can learn from it. As we have all guests sign in and sign out, there is no individual who waited 1.5 hours to be interviewed as this individual stated. It may have been in reference to us changing the order of the interviewers, but all candidates are greeted and moved through the system appropriately.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at DOM360 (Greenville, SC)

      Interview

I applied online and received a call a couple days later to schedule an interview. When I arrived at the office the first thing I was told to do was hand fill out the same application that I submitted online. I am still unsure why I was told to do that. I was led upstairs and I met with 3 different people and then led back downstairs and met with 2 more people. Each time I met with someone new I had to repeat the same thing I had just told the previous person. I was at the office for about 2 hours and a good portion of that time was spent waiting for the next person to come speak to me. About a hour after I left I received a call back with a job offer and I was told I had until end of day to accept/decline. Unfortunately at the time I was desperate for a job and accepted the job despite a number of red flags during the interview process.

Thank you for your feedback on our interview and hiring process here at DOM360. I'm delighted to hear that you received a quick turnaround on your online application, and that we got you into the office for an interview. Yes, the interview process can be long and painful! However, it's a good thing when we extend your interview to speak with multiple members of the team so you can get a 360 view of the organization through various eyes. Although we plan interviews in advance and place them on all members calendars, when clients call, that sometimes will delay the interviewer by a few minutes, and we do apologize that this occurred to you. It is typical that when you interview separately with members of the team that they will inherently ask you the same questions as a previous interviewer. We must have had a strong belief that you would be a great fit in the organization. Regarding completing the application, we don't have an online (electronic) application at this time, so I'm guessing what you completed was pre-interview questions (there are about 5 of them). Having extended you an offer pretty quickly indicated we were excited about you becoming part of the team. To answer your concern about the offer deadline, there are two reasons we put a deadline on the offer: (1) we learn whether a candidate is serious or just shopping around, and (2) we are hiring to fill an immediate business need and must be able to quickly consider additional candidates if the offer is not accepted timely. Regarding your comment that there were 'red flags' that arose during the interview, we would sincerely appreciate learning about them so we can improve our interview and hiring processes. This is a stressful process for our team members as well, and they want to improve this pre-hire experience too. Please feel free to submit any additional feedback you believe might be useful to HR@DOM360.com. Thanks again for your feedback. It is truly appreciated.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at DOM360 (Greenville, SC)

      Interview

Very scattered and unorganized. I was never sure who I was meeting with, or why. It felt like they were just grabbing people to come say hi. They had never even looked at my experience prior to walking into the interview.
