      Interview

I've never left a review on Glassdoor, but I just have to talk about my experience with Davidoff because it was so negative. The hiring process moved really quickly at first. In one week I submitted my cover letter and resume, completed an online aptitude test, did a phone screener, interviewed in-person and provided work samples. All told, that was about 15 hours of time in one week for an entry-level project assistant job, which seems a bit onerous. My in-person interview was actually a group interview, by which I mean it was just me and one other person interviewing for the same job, and Davidoff was only hiring one person for this role. The Davidoff employee conducting the interview went back and forth asking us each to respond to the same question one at a time. I've done group interviews before and enjoyed them, and this isn't how group interviews should work. This read as poorly organized and over-scheduled to me since there wasn't any group activity or problem-solving, just us listening to each other and giving our own answers. After that "group interview," we were separated, and I had a 1:1 interview with another Davidoff employee. I thought it went well because the next day I was asked to provide a few work samples, which I did..and then crickets. I never heard from that person I had been emailing with all week again. I followed up a couple times but got no response after all the time and energy I had put into the interview process. Well, a few weeks go by and a new listing pops up from Davidoff. The same job. I guess that means I didn't get it, so I email the same person for confirmation. Turns out she left Davidoff shortly after I interviewed with them, according to the out of office automatic reply. :/ Based on how disorganized and frantic everyone seemed to be in the Davidoff office, I wasn't totally shocked by all this, but gosh what a lousy way to find out you didn't get a job. Do better, Davidoff.
