      Content Writer Interview

      7 Mar 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Digital Forensics

      Interview

This was for a contract writer position (meaning no benefits). I spoke with the talent acquisition specialist over the phone, took a writing assessment (which seems like free work), and then I had a video interview with the hiring manager. A week later, I received an email with an employment offer. When talking to the talent acquisition specialist, he had told me the position was for a certain salary. However, when looking at the contract, there were several red flags: 1. The salary was for 45% of the salary that the talent acquisition specialist and I had previously talked about and agreed on. 2. You are expected to give 30 days notice if you even want to apply for another job, post your resume to a job-seeking site, or even seek another opportunity. Both of these stood out to me when reading through the 8-page contract. I sent an email to the talent acquisition specialist, asking for clarification and a revision based on what we had talked about during the initial interview, and he told me he would need to speak with a couple of people and then get back to me. This was 2 weeks ago, and he hasn't responded to a followup. Whatever you do, be wary about interviewing or working with this company. They seem like they are trying to scam you or get free work out of people.
