Coding is something we include when we believe it can help set candidates up for success. It’s not a formal or a full coding test and/or a coding session, but a small prompt to explore how the candidate thinks through a problem. That said, I understand a heads-up is appreciated, and we’ll make sure to be clearer about that being a potential ask during a tech interview going forward.
On the topic of feedback — we aim to provide it after each stage as soon as possible. We gather input from everyone involved, align internally, and come back with something meaningful that often provides a learning opportunity to our candidate. Our goal is to respond within 48 hours, though we’ve occasionally had situations where a follow-up email from the candidate comes in just as we’re finalizing. Could that have been the case here?
