I applied online. I interviewed at Dover Fueling Solutions in May 2026
Interview
I applied through the Careers site and the recruiter emailed me the next day to set up a call. She asked me standard questions in the email such as "Are you authorized to work in the US?", "Are you available to work in this location?", etc., which I found odd because I previously answered those questions in my application. We agreed that she would call me at 9:30am two days later; however, she called me at 9am–30 minutes before our scheduled time. Thankfully I was available, but this is a careless mistake to make with candidates. During our call, the recruiter asked me the same questions I answered in her email to me... She then set a second interview for me to meet the hiring manager a week and a half later. In my second interview, the hiring manager entered the meeting late and was clearly flustered. She also had not looked at my resume or portfolio before the call and let me know that there was someone else in the role previously who did not meet their standards. She stated that there would be ~3-4 more rounds of interviews if I moved forward in the process and I should hear back by end of week. 5-6 interviews for an individual contributor role is highly inefficient and frankly inconsiderate to candidates who take time out of their day to attend and prepare for these interviews without guarantee of an offer. I never heard back from the company and the role has been reposted multiple times with hundreds of applicants since I was ghosted, further signs of a broken system within an organization.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Do you have experience designing for marketing materials?
Internal recruiter says you are a great fit for a role and then ghosts you after multiple follow up attempts to try and understand why you aren’t progressing to the next level. Very unprofessional and would expect this more from a third party recruiter.
