I had talked to a recruiter at the career fair at our school. Prior to this interaction, I applied online and when I got the confirmation email, it was not the correct position that I applied to (I applied to a Metallurgical Engineer position and the confirmation email stated Metallurgical Engineer IV). I told him I had applied online and he gave me his business card to contact him. When I did he said he'd contact the assign recruiter on the position and get back to me. I had waited over two weeks and hadn't heard anything so I decided to reach out and follow up. It has been almost two weeks and I still haven't heard from the recruiter. After following up with him, I got a denial letter for the incorrect position, and tried to apply again to the correct position this time. The same thing happened and the confirmation email said an incorrect position. I then tried to reach out to the career email to see if I could get some help on how to apply to the correct position, and I have yet to hear back. Seems as if it's hard to get ahold of anybody with this company.
After speaking with Everaz at a career fair an HR representative contacted me via email for an in person interview and tour of their Pueblo plant. The overall experience was very interesting and informative. They also provided breakfast and lunch and the HR representative was helpful, involved and nice. After the tour I interviewed with three different teams about various internship positions. Although this process described was great I never heard back from the company on the position availability nor did another candidate from my school. I would have preferred a rejection email to no further correspondence.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
One question that got me was have you ever cut corners as far as safety is concerned to meet a deadline. Don't feel as though you have to give an example if you can't think of a time where you did such a thing. A better answer would have been no I would not and have not cut corners involving safety as I consider pushing back a deadline much less detrimental than to risk a potential injury.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at EVRAZ (Moscow, Moskva) in Jun 2013
Interview
face-to-face interview with the manager about CV, experience, and expectations. Very nice and friendly atmosphere. Asked 2 brainteasers, one case for airspace industry, question about market of construction, discussion of future perspectives.
