      Application

I interviewed at Edwards Lifesciences (Irvine, CA) in Sept 2018

      Interview

Complete process was well organized. Most of my interviewers were courteous, professional, and asked thoughtful questions. However, one interviewer possessed poor interviewing skills, which influenced the experience: - When asked about Edward's office culture, she responded using Johnson & Johnson's corporate team as an example of a negative office culture. - In addition, I was repeatedly interrupted by her before I could complete my sentences. When I was not extended an offer, I asked for constructive feedback because as an applicant, I am constantly striving to improve and welcome any constructive feedback, their response was that my answer to where I see myself in 10 years was "intimidating." Allow me to provide you with some insight- the poor interviewer mentioned above asked where I see myself in 5 years, to which I responded"building on my skillset and hopefully obtaining a graduate degree", she then followed it up with "what about 10 years", to which I responded "hopefully work my way to project management". Frankly, this series of questions prove lack of preparation on the interviewer's part, and if my response was "intimidating", it could signal that the company is not supportive or respectful of employees' aspiration to grow. Although initially disappointed by my rejection notice, I am confident it was for the best. Interview with them at your own risk. It is hit or miss.
