Interview itself went well. Recruitment process was abysmally unprofessional however.
Interview had good standard questions and amicable interviewers, no bad vibes at all. Explained what kind of project the role was for, as well as duties + length of project. Role felt right and interviewers felt accepting enough to push forward.
Right after interview was finished, HR attempted to arrange for a follow-up interview with head of studio/producer. But only sent the message very late/a few hours from the intended before. As I had prior commitments, I tried to ask for a different date.
HR proceeded to ghost all of the next day as well as the weekend, and only replied the following week to explain they would no longer be following up as they had to make a hiring decision the week before. None of this information had been related prior, nor the importance of this supposed deadline. Neglecting to communicate this and then brushing off potential candidates is peak unprofessionalism. Unsure which part of this process was decided by which stakeholder, but this needs to change if they want more successful applicants.
