      .NET Developer Interview

      8 Jan 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Dallas, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Elevate Credit (Dallas, TX) in Jan 2016

      Interview

I applied through an agency, who sent me the application to Elevate. I had a first scheduled interview which was mishandled by HR by miscommunication (different hours communicated to parties). Finally I got an interview with 2 managers. It wasn't very technical, rather about my experience and their company. We decided to take it to the next level. My agent communicated me later that the next step is to take a 'personality evaluation'. This was a first to me. It is the first time I was asked something like that. I said OK, let's do it. I was sent a link to an online assessment questionnaire. What. A Piece. Of. Carp. 104 pages of the same questions repeating in different groups and different order. What is the purpose of this? To catch me if I am lying? (I am not) To see if I am a good fit? (maybe I am, maybe I'm not) To see if I am like minded people? (I am not). Looks like somebody in HR likes to justify their salaries... About a quarter in the test I started clicking randomly. About half I gave up. I sent an email to my agent asking to cancel my application. Ken, I bet that when you founded this company nobody gave you a personality test. If you select 'like minded people' to work for you, you'll end up with a herd of sheep. Indeed you'll weed out the misfits, but you'll also weed out the people who think outside the box. Who might come with the next best idea. It is pretty sad when we rely on algorithms. It is also lazy. Good Luck and Godspeed. (for me, that is 8-) )

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Elevate Credit

      Interview

Very quick interview with standard questions asked verbally only. Applied for .Net MVC development, and they put me in WCF development even though my resume didn't even say WCF and I told them in the interview that I don't know WCF. They didn't train me either, and let me go after three weeks. Very poorly managed company.
