I applied online. I interviewed at Expert Institute (Milwaukee, WI) in Jul 2020

      Interview

found an opening for a Research Analyst at The Expert Institute on LinkedIn. I applied and the day I turned in my application I received an email saying the Expert Institute wanted to schedule a phone interview, which happened that week. This was a general interview asking what I knew about the company and why I might want to work there. During the interview I was asked when I could start and that I would be emailed further steps. The further steps included taking on online aptitude test that had me answer as many questions as I could in 15 minutes. The questions included some math, vocabulary/reading, and pattern work. Once I completed this I waited a week to hear back from HR to which they wanted to schedule an 1.5 hour video interview with two managers and the Vice President of Research. The dates HR gave me to choose from did not work for the managers and vice president’s schedule so I was asked to re-schedule. This meant waiting two more weeks for a 1.5 hour interview. I was also asked to review some of the material on their website including their case studies to prepare for the interview. During the interview I met with the each individual separately where I was given a case study situation and asked what types of experts I would recommend on the case. I would also suggest looking at the medical portion of the studies as I was told this is their focus. I was also asked general questions about customer service and how I have worked through difficulties and organization in my past experience. The Vice President gave me a much more overall focus on the position by explaining that analysts re-work with lawyers and can create a relationship with them. Since this hiring process happened during COVID I was then introduced to HR who told me she would gather feed back from the three interviews and get back to me with the next steps. She gave me her email and told me to contact her with any questions. She also again asked for my earliest starting availability, I’m assuming since the interview was pushed so far back. After a week I received an email attaching a timed case study. HR mentioned to complete this case study by the end of the week so the hiring team could move along quickly in the hiring process. The case study was a 60 minute timed test that gave a general situation about bullying in a school. During the case study it was my job to write a few sentences about the focus of the case and then find two experts who could help in the case. I could only pick one of the experts to testify. Remember you only have 60 minutes, so make sure look ahead of time how to research proper experts and not just from a general site. I completed the case study within 24 hours of originally receiving the email only to hear crickets from the hiring team. A little after a week I emailed HR to make sure the hiring team received my case study. I think I was simply hoping for a rejection letter so I could stop worrying about this position. After three days HR emailed me back saying the hiring team did receive my case study and to expect a decision in 5-7 days. I waited well over seven days and still have yet to receive a general email saying I did not get the job. The interview process for the Expert Institute in an emotional rollercoaster to which the company doesn’t even have the decency to provide a rejection email or letter.

Really straightforward and simple interview process. One interview with HR and then a panel interview with some employees. After that they have you do a practice exam. Everyone was extremely nice and they moved the process along quickly.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Expert Institute (Milwaukee, WI) in Jul 2024

      Interview

The HR department did a great job communicating and I enjoyed the ladies I spoke with for my interview. All are very responsive. The first interview was a "screening interview" and was only 15-30 mins. The second interview was much longer at an hour and a half, all virtual. I meant 3 individuals, each for 30 minutes. I will say, that one of them was 15 minutes late because there was miscommunication. They then followed up within a week. Seems like a lot of opportunity for growth in the company.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They did those "typical" interview questions, like "What did you least like about your previous job?" Along with "Tell me about yourself". Every single one of them gave me a hypothetical research case at the end, which I wish I had prepared for me thoroughly.
