      I applied online. I interviewed at FMP Consulting in Jan 2024

      Interview

      First and foremost, FMP did not adhere to legal guidelines concerning salary inquiries. During the first screening, I was asked to disclose my current salary, a practice prohibited in Maryland and Virginia. This disregard for legal requirements raised immediate concerns regarding the company's commitment to ethical and lawful hiring practices. Moreover, they would not disclose the salary range for this position. I decided to continue through the interview process, which was 2 STAR format interviews and then a writing assignment. I liked everyone on the team/whom I met, which was positive, but I thought two interview sessions of formal interview questions were a bit excessive. I was also confused because they didn't explain the team structure well and weren't sure who this position would report to. I then moved on to the writing assessment. The next day, FMP called and said everyone had positive feedback and they'd like my references. I sent them over, and then it was two weeks of radio silence, which I thought was unprofessional considering the tone of the conversations I'd had and the time commitment spent as a candidate. During this two-week wait, I happily accepted a job offer from a great organization. Then, at 10 pm on a Sunday, I got a rejection email that was very strangely worded and almost accusatory. From disregarding legal regulations to the lack of transparency and disrespectful communication, the company's conduct throughout the interview process was deeply disappointing. I sincerely hope that this feedback serves as an opportunity for FMP to reevaluate its recruitment practices and strive for improvement in fostering a more respectful and transparent candidate experience.
