Received a vague project title assignment. I got rejected because of my artistic abilities, not my actual product abilities. Took over 3 hours, added various details in the assignment to showcase product sense. At the very minimum I was hoping for a call back to explain my thought process, but their vague assignment with no rules, apparently had rules.

I applied online and received a request for a phone screen with a recruiter. The conversation was normal, but even after following up through email twice over the next 2 weeks, I never heard back. I recently checked their website and it appears the position was filled. Would be nice if recruiters can just take 10 seconds out of their day and write a simple follow up email so a candidate can get some closure.
