I had a great first-round interview and a writing test. It took a little while to hear back in between rounds, but that happens.
I spent all week preparing for the third-round interview and was super excited to talk about Fireside and my previous experience.
The interviewer seemed extremely tired and uninterested. I get that it was a Friday, but I deserve the same time and attention as all the other applicants. I was really excited to be there, and she acted like my interview was just something to check off a list. The questions were really weird and didn't give me the ability to prove my strengths.
She wasn't interested in conversing, rather just moving from one question to the next. I felt really disrespected. There was no opportunity for me to set myself apart or talk about why I was so interested in the position. Oh, I also found out that there was one more round of interviews. I don't know who they think they are.
The rejection email was really cold and impersonal. I had spent so long preparing, only to receive a "we will not be moving forward with your application." She said to let her know if I had any more questions, so I asked why I didn't get the position, claiming that I really want to learn and grow. No response.
I felt very undervalued and like my time or effort wasn't respected. I understand that the interview process is taxing, but I deserve to feel valued in the job process, especially from an organization that touts progressive values and a healthy company culture.
