Pros:
The interviewers were friendly, welcoming, and took the time to show me around the facility.
Cons:
Disorganized follow-up, lack of objective technical evaluation, and completely contradictory feedback between the technical team and HR.
Advice to Management:
Establish a standardized, objective interviewing process and ensure the panel and HR are aligned on candidate feedback.
Review:
The onsite interview was friendly but highly unorganized and ran over the allotted time. The conversation stayed very surface-level; I was never given a technical assessment, offered one, or quizzed on in-depth technical knowledge. Despite this lack of deep questioning, the interviewers explicitly told me my knowledge was a "perfect fit" and stated on my way out that the final decision would just come down to "team fit" (though virtually no behavioral or team dynamic questions were asked).
After the two-week window passed with no communication, I reached out to HR for an update. I was told they decided they needed someone with more knowledge—the exact opposite of what the interviewers stated, and a confusing conclusion given that my technical depth was never actually assessed. The massive disconnect between the panel and HR makes for a frustrating candidate experience.
